Home Equity Lines of Credit allow you to access the equity in your home. You could borrow up to 80% of your home’s appraised value. You can access the line of credit whenever you want and you only pay interest on the amount you actually use. The line of credit can be used for home improvement, purchase cars, education, vacation or use the money any way you want. In most cases the interest is tax deductible but please contact your tax adviser to make sure. The easy way to see what you may be able to borrow is estimate the value of your home, multiply by 80%, subtract the first mortgage balance, and you have the “equity” available! It’s that easy.
